Cost Guide
Bathroom Renovation Cost Kerry 2026: €3,150–€19,800
Published 20 August 2026 · WEPRO Renovations
Short answer: Kerry bathrooms are priced from €1,499 for a small straightforward scope, €5,499 for a complete bathroom package and €9,999 for a luxury package. WEPRO is based in Tralee, so a Kerry project does not carry the travel and accommodation a contractor driving down from Cork or Dublin has to price into the same job.
Kerry price bands
| Scope | Entry price | Where it usually applies |
|---|---|---|
| Limited small-bathroom scope | From €499 | A partial refresh in a sound room — Tralee and Killarney estate houses. |
| Ensuite, limited scope | From €999 | Guesthouse and holiday-let ensuites turned around between seasons. |
| Small straightforward bathroom | From €1,499 | Suite replaced in position, wet areas retiled, no services moved. |
| Complete bathroom package | From €5,499 | Rural and older homes where the room is rebuilt from the floor up. |
| Luxury package | From €9,999 | Large rooms, level-access wet rooms, underfloor heating and stone. |
| Tiling priced on its own | From €34/m² | Tanking and tiling package where another trade carries the first fix. |
The “from” figure is the minimum for a small, straightforward version of that scope, confirmed against the actual room in a written quote.
What Kerry projects actually cost
Kerry sits at the national average — with the difference that WEPRO quotes it from Tralee, so there is no travel or overnight loading inside the county.
| Level of work | WEPRO typical | Typical Irish market |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh, layout kept | €3,150–€5,400 | €3,500–€6,000 |
| Standard full refit | €5,850–€10,800 | €6,500–€12,000 |
| Large, high-specification or wet room | €10,800–€19,800 | €12,000–€22,000 |
Market figures are other Irish contractors' published 2026 ranges, checked 21 August 2026; WEPRO prices 10% below them. Where a grant covers the work, these are still the figures the council assesses — the grant reimburses part of the cost, it does not change what the job is worth.
What is genuinely different about a Kerry job
Distance is real, and it belongs in the schedule, not the price. Tralee to Dingle, Kenmare or Waterville is an hour or more each way. WEPRO does not load that onto the quote, but it does shape the programme — deliveries are consolidated, and trades are sequenced so nobody is driving the peninsula twice for a two-hour task.
Rural and older housing stock. Farmhouses and cottages outside Castleisland, Listowel and Killorglin often have a bathroom that was added to the building rather than designed into it: long waste runs, cold external walls, single-glazed windows and a floor structure nobody has looked at since. That is complete-package work, and strip-out is where the scope firms up.
Holiday lets and guesthouses. Killarney, Dingle and Kenmare rental properties are priced around a hard finish date between bookings. Plan the window on 5–7 working days for a standard bathroom — that is the programme WEPRO works to, and it is the number to check a booking calendar against before committing to dates. The specification also leans differently — anti-slip floors, robust brassware, grout that survives heavy turnover, and a layout that is quick to clean.
Atlantic exposure everywhere. Same wet, exposed climate the whole county shares. Extraction and waterproofing get specified properly or the room does not last.
Two grant routes that change what you pay
Kerry is one of the counties where grant funding meaningfully changes a bathroom budget, and both routes are decided by Kerry County Council:
- Accessibility work — the Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability pays up to €40,000 depending on household income, covering level-access showers, wet rooms and accessible WCs. The income bands and the application route are set out on our housing adaptation grant bathrooms page.
- A long-vacant house — the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant pays up to €50,000, or €70,000 where the property is derelict, and the bathroom is one line in a larger refurbishment scope. See the Kerry vacant property grant page.
Both need written approval before any work starts, and neither is a discount on a contractor's price — they are reimbursements paid after completion and inspection.
Worked scope examples
Illustrative scopes rather than named projects.
1. Tralee estate house, family bathroom. 3 m², layout kept, full retile, tanked shower over the bath removed in favour of a walk-in, new extraction. Complete package from €5,499.
2. Killarney holiday-let ensuite. 2 m², suite replaced in position, wet-area retile, anti-slip floor, fixed finish date between bookings. Ensuite band from €999 to small straightforward from €1,499, depending on what the floor looks like underneath.
3. Rural cottage near Killorglin, adaptation. 4.5 m², bath removed, level-access wet room formed over a suspended timber floor, whole-room tanking, grab rails and a shower seat. Luxury-package territory from €9,999 — and the scope most likely to be grant-supported.

Frequently asked questions
From €1,499 for a small straightforward scope, €5,499 for a complete bathroom package and €9,999 for a luxury package — the same published entry points WEPRO uses nationally, quoted from a Tralee base with no travel loading across the county.
WEPRO is based in Tralee, so Kerry projects do not carry the travel and overnight costs that a contractor coming from Cork or Dublin has to price in. Include the Eircode with your enquiry — the peninsulas are still an hour or more from town, and the schedule accounts for that honestly.
Timing, mostly. Rental and guesthouse work around Killarney, Dingle and Kenmare has to fit between bookings, so the sequence is planned to a hard finish date and the specification leans toward finishes that survive heavy turnover — anti-slip floors, robust brassware and grout that stays clean.
Two routes exist. Accessibility work can be supported by the Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability, and refurbishment of a long-vacant house can be supported by the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant. Both are decided by Kerry County Council, and both need approval before work starts.
